Peru Review: Solo Vacation, Lake Titicaca, Machu Picchu, Amazon, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Hiking

I would not go to the Amazon maybe instead to Nazca  lines. In the sacred valley I had too much free time  I would add additional activities or combine in fewer days.
I wanted to some hiking however with the high altitude I have found it extremely hard, I would have liked to be informed beforehand what rainbow mountain or Humantay lagoon hike entail.

Thanks for taking the time to post a review of your trip to Peru with us. Great that overall you were happy with our services and that you thought the hotels and local guides were good.

I just wanted to follow up on your comments on things you would do differently. Regarding Nazca instead of the Amazon and too much free time in the Sacred Valley, we always listen to our clients requests and try to meet them with the perfect tailor made itinerary. However, as everyone is different I’m sorry if we didn’t get the balance of activities quite right for you.

Part of our role as a tour operator is to provide information about the destinations and activities on your tour. When you added the trek to Rainbow Mountain to your itinerary, we suggested doing it at the end of your time in Cusco so that you would have maximum time to acclimatize to the altitude before the trek. As you booked the Humantay Lagoon trek with our local operator the day before the tour, due to the last-minute nature of the booking, you are right, we did not send any additional information so I apologise if you feel we let you down in this respect. I know from personal experience how much altitude sickness can impact a trip and I’m so sorry to hear you experienced it. Unfortunately there is no way to know who will be affected by altitude sickness and the only way we can try to minimize it’s effects is to allow time for gradual acclimatisation, which we do in all our itineraries.

I do hope that overall you enjoyed Peru and have come away with some wonderful memories of this amazing country.
