Peru Travel Review: Lima, Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Puno, Cusco, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Chachapoyas, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley

I am an avid photographer, and love history. I cannot believe that at every turn (not exagrating) there was a more breath taking scene I wanted to photograph, and another historical ruin I wanted to explore. You have to love history to visit all the ruins.

Everyone visits the South of Peru - EVERYONE! If you have the time do not pass up visiting North Peru. Some of our favorite memories of our trip are from the crazy bumpy roads up to magnificent ruins with very few tourists, if any at all. Kuelap (Chachapoyas) an ancient fortress in the clouds will amaze you with it's breathtaking views, and quiet solitude. Unlike Machu Picchu, Morray and Ollantaytambo (truly breathtaking also) to the south, which you will find hundreds of visitors climbing the hills like ants, stepping on your feet, and photo-bombing your photographs. In the north you will visit amazing sites where you can take photos without anyone in them! I LOVED THAT!!!

Colca Lodge Spa & Hot Springs- Such an amazing place..stay at least 2 days to take advantage of the outlying areas, the alpaca farm, the hot springs, and the spa. Visit to see Condors flying was OK. I have one good pic, but the small towns and the markets around the canyon...yes go explore...have a great time!
