Peru Vacation Review: Cusco, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Lima

Zicasso’s travel company was fantastic. Every aspect of the trip progressed without any troubles. One of the most important benefits was that our travel agent was available via WhatsApp for any questions or concerns we had. He even met us in Cusco just to see how things were going. What a great guy! He was quick to respond to messages from the time we began planning eight months prior to our trip to the last day of the tour.

Because of his attention to detail, we saw all the things we wanted to and some we didn't know we would want to see. He had asked our likes/dislikes and planned a tour that worked for us. Every tour guide/transfer was punctual, knowledgeable, and friendly. We'd definitely use our travel agency again and recommend them to anyone who wants a trouble-free vacation in Latin America.

Our guide with whom we spent the most time (in and around the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu) did an excellent job of arranging travel details. He seemed to enjoy hosting our visit, which was especially good, as on this part of our tour there were only three of us. He shared information we expected, but was also open to questions about his personal thoughts and experiences as a Peruvian. He was very attentive to our needs, even when we didn't know we had them (like adjustments to the altitude). You will be fortunate if you have him as a guide.

On our bike tour of the Sacred Valley, our guide was a lot of fun and very patient with our frequent stops to take photos, adjust the bikes, etc ...

If you get a chance, take a cooking class in Cusco. It was not just a “follow-this-recipe” experience. The chef was very knowledgeable in every aspect of the food prep process and even helped us to choose the best chocolate and coffee in the market, which was not part of the class.

Our driver did well managing our larger bus tour from Cusco to Puno. Affable and joking, he made the trip comfortable and informative.

The food tour in Lima was among the highlights. Four fantastically unique restaurants, each delicious, with bubbly and engaging staff.
