Portugal Travel Review:10-Night Tour of Porto, Douro Valley, Lisbon

Excellent guides who were personable, professional, and knowledgeable. They chose excellent restaurants and vineyards to enjoy. They were very punctual and kept us busy throughout. I never felt rushed or pushed. Our schedule was good but some sites were too touristy and not extremely interesting. In particular, the kayak experience was very misleading and not worth the time or expense. My biggest criticism lies with the travel company.  Perhaps there was a personality conflict but I found them to be unfriendly, rushed and unprofessional. In particular, we had an issue in Lisbon (of my own fault) and they were not helpful or available! Our guide Joel of his own accord took over and helped us out.  Unfortunately, the travel company did not even follow up despite my emails to ensure we were ok.  In summary, Portugal was an amazing place and an experience we will remember. However, I will choose a different company for my return.
