Review: Family Vacation in Belize & Mexico, Tikal, Mayan Ruins & Culture, Spa Services, Canoe Trip, Nature & Beaches

My family of 10--grand parents, adult children and spouses, and grandchildren enjoyed a wonderful Christmas holiday planned for us by this agent and her company.  She had so many  factors of age, interest, special diets, and purpose (chiefly to see outstanding  Mayan remains)  She was very responsive and quickly zeroed in on the arrangements that would best suit us.

 We were directed to Chaa Creek resort and spa.  I cannot say too many nice things about Chaa Creek.  It was beautiful, something like Shangri La only in the jungle.  The food was exceptional , large organic and local, and served in a dreamy dining room partly outdoors under a handsome thatched roof.  The spa services were such a delight, administered in a facility at the top of a hill looking out over the site.  On the site there was an informative nature museum and a breeding facility for butterflies perfect for all ages.  We could have ridden horses or bikes or hiked the extensive trails.  However we were very busy with the trips planned for us by Chaa Creek to see three sites associated with Mayans and taking a short canoe trip.  The Guides were all well selected.  They were knowledgeable and thoughtful. Our travel company tours advised us about transportation well.

Our agent took care of our airline reservations although we selected which to take.  She had done this whole trip so she could advise us what the experience would be when we took a very small commercial airline from Belize City to Cancun, Mexico.  It turned out to be a good experience as she assured us it would be.

Although we traveled as a group, our agent answered individual questions from three of the adults traveling. She saw to it that there were three packets of documents delivered to the various adult families. It was disappointing that our travel agency was not set up to do any tour arrangements for Mexico where it was necessary to go for the purpose of seeing more Mayan sites.  

This travel agency met the high standard for service and expertise that I have come to expect of Zicasso.
