Review: Greece Vacation, Naxos, Santorini, Athens

Wonderful first experience with zicasso. This travel agency planned a great trip, better than I could have planned myself which is what I usually do. The choice of hotels was excellent and everything was organized so well with car rental, ferry, flight and taxi arrangements. 

The only disppointment was the “sailing” trip. I had dreamed of sailing through the Greek islands and booked a sailing trip for the day with the travel agency. But it was clear once I got to Greece that the catamarans don’t sail at all. They cruise by motor to swimming spots which can be far from the port, so they don’t have enough time to reach these destinations by sail even when the wind is blowing strong. I’m not even sure the captain of the boat knew how to sail. The boat ride was fine but I would not have signed up for a whole day boat trip had I known we would be motoring along all day. I also thought the captain of the catamaran was a little creepy and confrontational. He did not like it when I asked him if he planned to sail especially when he understood that I knew how to sail and his “explanations” weren’t that logical until he had to admit that the organized boat ride was never intending  to sail. 

Every other thing was absolutely fantastic - guide in Athens, choice of islands, and especially our accommodations.
