We would prefer to spend only 1-2 nights in Chianti. Our hotel was a 20 minute walk from the town with no pedestrian walkway. Most of our day trips ended by 5pm and we did not have a car afterwards. We were forced to eat at the hotel restaurant for 3 nights. Taxis or other means of transportation are not readily available in the area.

In Venice, we would not stay at the star splendid hotel. We found the hotel staff especially at check in to be rude and unprofessional. This was unlike any of the other hotels we had stayed at during our trip in Italy.
