Review: Italy Vacation, Rome, Florence, Venice, Sistine Chapel, Cooking Class, Wine Tasting

One hotel was not a good part of our trip, honestly.  The one hotel was the only place on our trip that was somewhat stilted and unfriendly.  Some of the staff was friendly, others were overly formal and strict, like "you can't go through that door, you must leave through this door," when the doors were literally 4 feet apart.  The owner (a Countess?) and her entourage came through on both the Friday and Saturday nights we were there, while we were in the community rooms downstairs, and basically told us they were taking over things, it was awkward.  On the upside, it is a very lovely location, and the cooking lesson with the chef was really great.  He was super personable, non-judgemental of our various expertise in cutting etc, and just overall great.  Later that day, we were served what we'd "mostly made," and it was really delicious, thanks to his guidance and follow-up.  He was great. :-)
