Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Our agent was a joy to work with and our trip was amazing. She was quick to respond to my first communication and I found her phone interview helpful. After we went back and forth a bit, the itinerary was exactly what we were looking for and within budget. We had never been to Italy and wanted to make sure we made the most of our week and our agent's recommendations and services were all top notch.

She helped us have a perfect stay in Amalfi - from the great driver to the amazing hotel and fun boat ride to Capri. We wouldn't change a thing about that part of the trip, except maybe stay longer!

Then when we headed to Rome, she made sure we had amazing tour guides for all the sites - from our stop in Pompeii, to the Roman ruins and the Vatican, St. Peter's, etc. All of the guides and drivers were extremely friendly, accommodating and knowledgable.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The Amalfi stay was one of the best parts of any vacation I've ever taken. The hotel we stayed at was spectacular. It was so great, that we ate every dinner there and spent quite a bit of time by the pool. The private boat ride out to Capri couldn't have been more beautiful or relaxing.

Having guides with us in Rome made such a difference. I can't imagine that we would have gotten a fraction of the value from our stay, had we not had them with us.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Just a few thoughts -

I think we probably did too much. However, I don't know what I would have taken away. Staying in Amalfi for another day or two would have been great - given that we had busy times in Paris and Rome on either side.

Ending in Rome with 2 days of touring was pretty tiring, but again I don't know what I would have skipped.

The only really somewhat down side of the trip was the brief stop in Naples. Our driver took us to delicious pizza, but it was in a cafeteria (no character, no site of real Naples nearby). We were also supposed to grab a train with all of our luggage in tow. Instead we had our driver just take us to Rome. I appreciated our agent making the switch at the last minute.
