Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Our travel agent did a wonderful job creating the ideal itinerary for us with the tremendous amount of knowledge she has of the country. She managed to arrange for us all the things we wanted to do, packed into a 2 week vacation without making it seem to hurried or exhausting. She was very quick to respond to emails and she was very easy to work with to correct a small mistake on our itinerary. Unfortunately, we were unlucky with the weather and ran into several flight delays which made parts of the trip less than enjoyable. However, that's part of traveling, and out of everyone's control. One of our pre-paid activities was canceled as a result, but our agent made it very easy to receive a refund. We did wish that we could have had contact with the company directly while on our vacation instead of having to go through a third party travel agent. Overall though, I would highly recommend!

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Our day trip with with our tour compnay was amazing! The driver was polite and courteous and shared a lot of great knowledge about the area. They provided local drinks, snacks, blankets, and umbrellas for the whole day, which was an added bonus! Got to see so much on the Geothermal tour in Rotorua. Also climbing the glaciers in Franz Josef was a once in a lifetime opportunity!

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

We had really wanted to take a helicopter tour of White Island, unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. New Zealand really can get four seasons in one day and the weather forecast is not always accurate. If time allows, I recommend preparing to spend a day or two extra for "must-do" activities just in case the weather misbehaves.

Typically this can be quite a nice time of year to travel, but New Zealand’s Spring was not a good one this year, as I experienced in September. I was sad that you were unable to get out to White Island, and yes, for this kind of activity it probably would be good to have an extra day in the area incase of bad weather. I appreciate your feedback on this. Thanks again for taking the time to write the review Kristine. I enjoyed working with you and hope you can travel to our part of the world again some time.
