Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

I had an amazing trip, and honestly all thanks to to this travel company. I am incredibly happy that I decided to go with them for this important trip. There were probably a few small things that could've been improved on their side, and those small things would make a difference for future. As it was a special occasion and going alone, I figured that this information would have been relayed to the restaurants and they could have made the occasion actually feel special. It was no ordinary trip - it was a big birthday I wanted to celebrate in Italy, but sometimes it did not feel that way. But mostly, it was well organized and I discovered a lot with the little time that I had in Italy. It was probably one of the best trips I have had in a long time. The places that the company chose for me to go to were really lovely, and most did not disappoint. I just wish they also displayed a little bit more knowledge and enthusiasm in the suggestion of restaurants. As a person that is in the profession of Food & Beverage and a hotelier, I was expecting a little bit more depth. But for those that perhaps have never had a gastronomic experience it was definitely an experience that should not be missed. Regardless of it all, this would not have happened without these travel agents. Thank you very much for everything!

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

That is an incredibly difficult question, as all of it was incredibly enjoyable and memorable. From driving city to city in a smart car, to going on a food walking tour in Florence. I especially loved learning about the production of wine, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I learnt a lot and it definitely has changed my perspective of these products. But if I really had to choose a place that I enjoyed myself the most it would have to be at Villa Campestri.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

What I would do differently would be to ensure that I have a reservation at Osteria Francescana in Modena, as it was my inspiration to go to Italy for my birthday. Also instead of just a lunch and a olive tasting session at Villa Campestri, I would definitely stay there a couple of nights. I would also make sure that I go to Burano Island in Venice. Also perhaps not have such a scheduled plan. But as a first time in Italy and being alone, it was best that I had everything planned and organized. Next time I would make sure I have more flexibility.

We are really sorry that you didn’t appreciate some of our suggestions regarding the restaurants. We selected places where you could taste traditional regional cuisines and other ones, most of them Michelin starred restaurants, where the bases of the Italian cuisine are revisited: we thought that by these two different experiences you would have the keys to better appreciating the personal visions of chefs and their innovations. We apologize if you were disappointed by our choice. Concerning the 3-Michelin- Stars you expected to visit, Osteria Francescana and Enoteca Pinchiorri, unfortunately both of them have several months of waiting time and it was really impossible to book them for you.

We truly hope that you will continue your exploration of our culinary tradition and we would be happy to plan your next trip to our Country!
