Review: Tour of Iceland, Scotland & England, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Reykjavik, Whiskey Trail, Glacier Tour, Whale Watching

We began our trip in Iceland. Our representative put together a great itinerary for us, and recommended activities (Nature Baths) plus a couple of special tours that were wonderful (Jeep Tour of Askja and into the Glacier). We had hoped to visit Grimsey Island as well to cross the Arctic Circle. Turns out we were the only ones who wanted to go, so the tour was cancelled. The tour company graciously offered a whale-watching cruise as an alternative, and we saw humpbacks, so the day turned out well.

Scotland is a treasure, from the Great Glen to the Orkneys to Edinburgh. Our goal was to follow the Whisky Trail and we got to all the distilleries we had hoped to visit, plus a few more. We started in Glasgow, travelled north, then back through Speyside to Edinburgh. We were given a road atlas with all of our routes highlighted, as well as a day-a-page itinerary that kept us on track. Finished with a terrific whisky-themed dinner in Edinburgh arranged by our representative. All of the guides in Glasgow, the Orkneys and Edinburgh were knowledgeable, friendly and professional.

England was primarily a visit with friends, but we spent three days in London in a lovely hotel.  Our representative also booked a tour of London with a guide - he was absolutely outstanding!
