Review: Tour of India, Varanasi, Aurangabad, Taj Mahal

I might try to avoid some of the very early mornings. While that itinerary allowed us to cover more ground in the two weeks we were in India, we were fairly exhausted on those early travel days.

Thank you for sharing your review about your India trip. I am glad to know that your trip planning experience with Indebo has been positive for the most part, and your experience with the drivers and guides.  

You have mentioned two points of hiccups during the trip:  
Miscommunication regarding the room configuration and choice of hotels 
Guide choices during the trip 

Alex - we were very clear in our quote to you that we had booked one TWIN bedded room for your stay throughout the trip. You had indeed told us that this was to be a family trip with your father. Had we been informed at any stage in advance of your arrival that you wanted separate accommodations, we would have definitely done so.

And when you told us - we did so. In fairness, Alex, you mailed me to thank you for securing a second room promptly in response to your request - so I do not really think it was a hiccup on our part.

The hotel choices was based on the budget indication as given in your trip request. There was just one place on the trip where you stayed for a night, where we chose a moderately priced hotel for your stay. For the rest of the trip,  the hotel choice was the most optimal selection keeping in mind service levels during the peak tourist travel season.

You did alert us about the driver and guide situation. I would not brush it aside as an atypical occurrence and am glad that you brought it to our notice to enable us take preventive action ahead. I personally interviewed the guide later as well. 

Let me list the steps taken:
On being informed, after you arrived on the trip that your father and you wanted separate bedrooms we immediately changed the accommodation bookings from ONE Twin room to TWO Single rooms. We billed you - you paid us - and there was no discussion or dispute.
After receiving the complaint regarding guide midway during the trip, we briefed guides that they would take instructions only from you on what was to be covered on the trip.
I trust this clarifies matters. Likewise for us - for most part - it was great to have you as our traveller. We now ask every traveller of their accommodations preferences, rather than make assumptions!
