We just came back from a private 14-day-tour of Peru with this travel company. We visited Lima, flew over the Nazca Line, went to the Amazon jungle, visited the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco, then finished up with the Lake Titicaca. Overall we had a great time. We are very happy with the itinerary, all the transferrings, most of the hotels and tour guides. Before the trip, we were worried about the mosquitos in the jungles and the altitude of the high lands. But we barely got any mosquito bites due to the dry season. We had spent several days in Sacred valley before heading to Cusco, nobody in our party had altitude sickness.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

In Lima, the food tour brought us to a beautiful restaurant built on ancient ruins, which was a pleasant surprise. We really liked the food served at the lodge in Amazon and the hotel in Sacred Valley was lovely. The tour guides in the Amazon and Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu speak very good English and are very knowledgeable. The glass dorm train between Cusco and Machu Picchu not only serves food but also has performance, which is very fun. We also liked the bus ride from Cusco to Puno. Although it’s a long day, we stopped 4 times to visit some less visited ruins. It also helped with the adjustments to the high altitude.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

We wish the hotel in Lima was a little nicer. The hotel can only be rated one star in our opinion. Not only it is very dated but also has no counter space at all in the bathroom. The hotel in Machu Picchu was very loud at night, you can hear the music coming from street after 11pm. The second part of tour on Lake Titicaca - to island of Tiquile was too long. We wish we had known about the other ruins around Puno and went there instead.
