As stated above, each destination was different from the others, so each had its advantages. The people of Vietnam were so lovely and generous to us that they were a true highlight. The hotels selected by Trails of Indochina were first rate and provided a wonderful refuge for us each night after a busy day of touring. Bicycling through the villages of Vietnam on three days was also a highlight. Perhaps the most memorable experience of the trip was the day spent riding and playing with the elephants north of Chiang Mai in Thailand. We'll never think of elephants the same way again!
