Sweden Family Trip Review: Nothern Lights, Overnight Dog Sledding, Ice Sculpting, Cross-Country Skiing, Snowmobiling, 10-Day Trip

Our stays were unique and interesting, the food was delicious and met our dietary needs, and the activities kept us busy each day. Each stay was different from the last, the hotel at Jukkasjärvi, overnight dog sledding to the lodge near Kopparberg, the hotel at Harads, and Aurora Camp in Sörbyn. There were many firsts for a family from the southern U.S: ice sculpting, cross-country skiing, feeding reindeer, dog sledding, snowmobiling, fat bike riding, sauna and plunge in frozen lake, and admiring the northern lights, to name a few. Our favorite was an overnight dog sledding adventure at the lodge near Kiruna, which was an incredible once in a lifetime experience for us. From learning about the dogs and dogsledding, to sledding in the dark in the silence and stillness of woods and frozen lakes to a wilderness lodge, to enjoying a sauna and delicious meal, to our cozy warm cabins, to the beyond beautiful dogsledding back to the kennel in the morning light as the sky swirled with red, blues and greens across the expanse of snow covered lakes and woods. It received a rating of "epic" from the teen/young adults.
