Travel Review: Custom Luxury Vacation to Italy

The City of Florence. It is so vibrant and alive, yet understated and sophisticated. Our hotel Antica Dimora was charming and well located, no more than 1 mile from the heart of the City. Our tour guides took us back into the Gothic age, then into the Renaissance. They discussed in depth the ideas of the Florentine Renaissance, and the effect of the Medici family during this period of history. At the Uffiizi, we saw Giotto, Botticelli, Da Vinci, Raffaello, Tiziano, and Caravaggio, just to name a few of the Masters. We saw St Marcos, the Medici Chapels, the Pitti Palace & Palatine Gallery including the gardens, Santa Croce where a bunch of notables are buried, and the Church of Santa Maria Novella.
