Travel Review: European Vacation, France, Germany, Austria, Poland, Normandy, Paris, Krakow, Munich, Vienna, Auschwitz

That is such a difficult question as it was a great mix of wonderful cities (favorites were Vienna and Munich), and beautiful countryside (most memorable Austrian Lake District and rural Normandy).  We loved the history (incredible especially in Krakow, Vienna, the Eagles Nest, Munich and Paris), the culture, and the natural beauty.  Probably most memorable, although difficult, was the incredible tour of Auschwitz / Birkenau.  One of the most enjoyable portions was the personal conversations that we had with a few of the guides.  We truly enjoyed their stories of their families, their culture, their lifestyle.  They were often focused on the sites, and their expertise was incredible, but we also loved hearing their perspective about their country and their family.
