Travel Review: Italy Family Vacation

While not the most enjoyable or necessarily memorable parts of our trip we appreciated the convenience and efficiency of the private transfers from lodging to train or visa-versa. Italy, in late July and August couldn't be more congested, busy, or hot (HOT) and consequently occasionally overwhelming. With even the best laid plans, traveling with a family of five can be confusing and hectic, add to that the heat, chaos, and novelty of a foreign country and well, the private transfers were a God send! It was great to be able to rely on courteous and professional assistance during the transitions from one region of Italy to the next.

Also, we were very impressed with the level of professionalism and knowledge of our private tour guides. Most, if not all, had PhD's in their respective area's of study and were perfectly matched to our tour settings. Having these guides for main attractions made all the difference between learning in a meaningful and insightful way versus wearily trudging through yet another church, or museum, or ruin trying not to get stepped on or jostled appreciating what we were seeing but not really processing the mass of visual stimulus. The tour guides were able to optimally shape our visits and sightseeing in a way that made them both meaningful and enjoyable. Basically our tour guides could not have been more fabulous.
