Travel Review: Italy Tour, Milan, Bologna, Local Cuisine

First I would like to say that the overall experience was excellent.  Our driver was above reproach!  He went out of his way to accommodate anything we requested of him.  He was wonderful!  Also our guide in Bologna was excellent too. She was so personable and went beyond what was required.  She made sure our experience was first class!  The other drivers were very good too. We just didn't get to know them because of the short amount of time spent with them.  We would have preferred to have our original driver stay with us through out our trip.  The planned tours were also excellent.   The biggest disappointment was our hotels.  We are used to a little more luxurious hotel.  The first one had stink bugs coming into the room from the balcony door.  We didn't complain because we didn't want to appear as spoiled Americans. Everything else was average.   One hotel, for which we are Platium members, was not good at all. The water in the shower kept going from scolding hot to freezing cold, very uncomfortable!  There weren't any drawers or closet areas to unpack our clothes. We had to get a taxi every time we wanted to go somewhere.  We would have preferred to stay within walking distance of the old town.
