Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Our trip was amazing and better than we could ever have dreamed or planned for ourselves. We had never heard of or used Zicasso or this travel company before but had visited Italy before and done all of the tourist-y things and this time we wanted to visit and see the non-traditional sites. Zicasso matched us with one agency--this agency-- and our travel consultant prepared an amazing 10-day itinerary to Parma, the Italian Riviera, including Cinque Terre, and finally Florence. We had first-class drivers to and from the airport and our various day trips. We never had to wait--they were always early and ready and waiting for us. All three hotels were luxury accommodations and service. Our guides were excellent and so knowledgable in Parma and Florence--they made our visits even more memorable. Each day trip we kept telling ourselves was our favorite, but by the end of the trip we couldn't choose just one--they were all amazing and we would do each and every one again!

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

There were too many to narrow down to just a few! We absolutely loved Parma--the parmigiano-reggiano producer, prosciutto maker and balsamic vinegar loft were so much fun. The family restaurant was our best meal ever. My husband kept saying he would love to retire there! But then the private boat tour of the Tigullio Gulf and visit to Portofino had us convinced we couldn't choose. Hiking the Cinque Terre was also a once in a lifetime experience. Our hotel in Florence was so perfectly situated that we really got to know the city well. I think we most loved visiting all of the little amazing Italian villages: Lucca, Greve, Siena, Bagno Vignoni, Pienza, Montepulciano, etc. When looking back at all of the things on the trip that our travel consultant had planned for us, I can't think of a single thing that we wouldn't do over again!

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Nothing!
The only problem we did have--which had nothing to do with our travel agency--was the WiFi at our hotel in Florence was terrible. The hotel was first-class in service and location and we had truly luxury views and accommodations but the WiFi wouldn't work. We had to go out of our rooms to connect in the hallway, and in the few seconds it took to walk back to our room, it would disconnect. We would have switched rooms but other guests told us it was the same with them. The scary thing was that overnight, without WiFi, our families and my husband's work could not reach us. So, while normally I would definitely want to book that hotel again because it was so wonderful, the WiFi would preclude me because we need to be in touch with family and work. We did not have this problem at our other hotels outside of Florence or in any restaurants that we visited in Florence and elsewhere.
