Travel Review: Italy Vacation, Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Rome Cooking Class, Food & Wine

Our Italy travel agent did an excellent job planning our vacation. My wife and I wanted to pack in as much of Italy as possible in one week with a mix of main tourist attractions and off the beaten path local activities. It was no easy task planning this, but our agent was the perfect guide. She is local so has plenty of real insight and she does not work for a large agency so the treatment is always very personal and high touch.

We squeezed Rome, Tuscany, Florence, and Venice into the week, spending at least one night at each location. All of our hotels were immaculate and our travel arrangements/transfers were on time and totally smooth. We had to do very little thinking on the trip which is always our goal on vacation! 

This agent also has a great list of restaurant recommendations so you can avoid any potential tourist traps - hotels typically get kick backs so any recommendation from them is unreliable. 

We also really liked that she was willing to show us a draft itinerary before making us pay any deposit. Most travel agents will make you put the deposit down before you can see what they have in mind. That's a lot to ask and our agent was one of the few that was willing to put in a little work before asking for any compensation. Honestly, this high-touch treatment carries throughout the planning stage and straight through the trip itself. She is excellent and we recommend her extremely highly.
