Travel Review: Japan Anniversary Vacation, Miyajima Island, Cherry Blossoms, Ryokan Stay, Local Cuisine

We had an excellent trip to Japan arranged by this travel agent.  I generally select small travel agencies where I get to interact directly with the owner.   This was the case with this agent -- and like other times I have taken this approach I was very pleased.  My travel agent did an excellent job of listening to our preferences and designing a trip that met them.  We enjoyed a nice mix of more popular tourist destinations, along with small out-of-the-way gems that we never would have known about were it not for our agent and his expertise.  The hotels he selected for us were consistently excellent, and the guides -- with one exception -- were extremely knowledgeable and pleasant.  Our travel agent was also extremely prompt in addressing any questions or issues that we encountered during our trip.  The longest I ever had to wait for a response from him to an email I sent was probably 10 minutes or so.  He obviously takes great pride in the business he has started, and was very focused on ensuring that we had an outstanding experience -- which we did.
