Travel Review: Luxury Greece Vacation, Athens, Rhodes, Crete, Zakythnos, Rethymnon, Acropolis, Plaka

We loved every moment, but our favorite part was the second hotel we visited, in Rethymnon, Crete. It is a family run restaurant and small hotel, the accommodations were outstanding with a jacuzzi tub in our suite and beautifully decorated. The best part of all was the (free!) breakfast, which was a 3-course meal served in their outdoor garden full of butterflies, where they grow fresh herbs used at the restaurant and where you eat under the shade of flowering trees. You choose one item from 3 categories on the menu with the option of fresh squeezed orange juice as well (which I could hear being actually fresh-squeezed in a machine 2 minutes before I drank it - yum). The garden is peaceful and quiet and there is no need to rush, ever, because breakfast is served until noon, and in typical Greek fashion, you are invited to sit for as long as you would like. I miss this breakfast every day!
