Travel Review: Luxury Greece Vacation, Athens, Santorini, Delphi, Agora, Acropolis, Temple of Poseidon, Hiking, Catamaran Cruise

This travel company made all the arrangements for our 8 day trip to Greece, and onward travel to Paris. This included hotel bookings, transportation within and out of Greece, and private tour and activity bookings. Our agent talked to me to understand what we wanted, and then made recommendations, and then finalized the details of our trip. There were a lot of logistics to handle, since we visited Athens, Delphi, and Santorini, and had many private tours as well.  He and his team did a wonderful job and we had a truly memorable trip.

We arrived in Athens first, and stayed there 3 days. We wanted to focus on historical sites and activities, not on touristing in modern Athens. So our travel agent booked us into a hotel that is right across from the Temple of Zeus (impressive by day, magnificent by night) and which has a view of the Acropolis, particularly splendid at night. It is in the Plaka area, which was fun to explore the first day, and we could walk to the Acropolis from there. 

Our private guide was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Our second day we went to the Acropolis and its museum. He provided very interesting and informative explanations for everything, and was also very flexible, and was willing to adjust the schedule between days to allow more time for what we wanted to see. The next day we went to the Agora with him, and from there to the Temple of Poseiden - absolutely spectacularly beautiful! And finally, we made an overnight trip to Delphi, which was an unforgettable experience. Our guide was steeped in all the details about Delphi, and it was an amazing experience going there with him, down to the restaurant at which we had lunch at Delphi.

From there we went to Santorini to conclude our time in Greece, where our agent had booked us into a spectacular cliffside hotel in Firastefani. Food was fantastic, views were to die for. He also recommended a sunset catamaran cruise, which made for an unforgettable 6 hours.

We had a truly unforgettable stay, and would recommend this agent and this travel company to anyone.
