Travel Review: Luxury Italy Vacation, Rome, Siena, Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Vatican Tour, Cooking Class

We had a wonderful trip. All the things our travel agency had arranged for us went off without a hitch. The drivers were nice and on time. The guide in Siena was wonderful. The guide in Pompei was fine during the tour but when it was over he kind of left us standing there waiting for our driver and went to get something to eat. When my daughter walked over to say goodbye and give him his tip be barely acknowledge her which was a little strange. The cooking class in Siena was definitely  a highlight in our trip.

I had some issues booking the trip because of hotels not being available according to the agent. When she offered another hotel which was not  a 5 star hotel she offered us originally the price of the package stayed the same. I questioned that but was told there was no price difference. Unfortunately these days this is very easy to check online and there was a significant difference in price and the amount of amenities the hotel offered.

I decided to book my own accommodations for the entire trip and was very happy with them. BTW I was able to book a room in the hotel I was told was full for the 5 nights I wanted to stay there.

In the end the agent offered me a discount on our package price for the inconvenience which I appreciated.
