Travel Review: Luxury Thailand Family Tour, Chiang Rai, Bangkok, Koh Samui, Bo Phut, Beaches, Elephant Experience, Waterfalls

Our trip was very nice except all three of us got sick so for the first 10 days one of us was sick. The travel company your referred us to was excellent.  Very nice and very detailed in working with them.  We had personalized guides which were great.  However, we could have done without a few of the visits in some of the tours.  Not being familiar with the area the travel agent really did a good job in recommendations.  Our last few days were spent at the beach on Koh Samui.  The hotel was a beautiful Resort and Spa in Bo Phut. and services was great.  However, we were very disappointed in the beach. Water was dirty, sand was not white. We were not able to walk anywhere and had to take taxi's to eat and shop anytime we wanted to leave the resort.  When we visited another area where there were hotels, the beach was much nicer and the sand was clean.  We would have preferred to stay here at Chaweng beach.  It was busier, restaurants on the beach and you could walk to town.  Having a 23 year old daughter with us the Bo Phut areas was much too quiet.  We could have done without staying in Chaing Rai for as many nights.  Would have done one day tour.  Too many temple visits and after the third day they all look the same.  The guides and travel company they set us up wth in Thailand were terrific.  My only suggestion would be for the agency to be better prepared with offering air reservations.  I had to deal with another department and then booked my air on my own.  Our Travel agent did know that my daughter was flying from Australia and never told us she could fly back from Koh Samui to Syndey and did not have to got to Bangkok first.  I wound up changing my daughters flights and it cost me alot more money. the local agency was not helpful it trying to arrange this for us either once we were in Koh Samui. They told me to call the airline directly.
