Travel Review: Spain Vacation Package, Sevilla, Madrid, Cordoba

In addition to Madrid and Sevilla, we might go to Granada instead of Cordoba, or in addition to Cordoba. We heard so many exceptional things about Granada, but we did not want to "race around." TIPS FOR OTHER TRAVELERS: THIS PART IS NOT RELATED TO THE SERVICES THE TRAVEL AGENCY AND ZICASSO PROVIDED The only negative, and it was a BIG ONE, was that Iberia told us we "were on stand-by" when we got to the terminal for our return flight (well within the time frame for that--we were not late, and we had booked our flights two MONTHS previously.) This led to two frantic hours of hassle, worry, and waiting in various lines at the airport--only to be admitted to the flight normally at the gate. Iberian agents twice said, "Airlines always overbook, no seat is guaranteed." That is absurd when one has purchased a transcontinental flight for $1100. In your communications with Iberia you might question them about this procedure, as it has never happened to me before, and I have flown dozens of times and for decades.
