We just returned from one of the best trips we have ever taken - all due to this incredible travel company! We traveled for 18 days from Venice, then throughout Slovenia and Croatia. Our travel experts on-the ground, helped us to create an 8-stop itinerary based on our interests of history and literature, hiking and nature. They also helped us to arrange our travel using ferries, a rental car (delivered to our hotel), and even provided a local driver from Venice to Ljubljana. From the wide and varied choices of hotels, to their restaurant recommendations, to the tour and activity suggestions, and the personalized travel tips, this is a first class experience. From our initial contact eight months ago, to our arrival in Venice, to our last day on the ground in Dubrovnik, when our plane was delayed by high winds, we felt cared for, indeed, even "coddled". As experienced travelers in our seventies, planning this trip seemed a bit daunting, but we were helped at every turn, from our initial cafe meeting in Ljubljana with our in-country travel planner who went over every day of our trip, our routes, and activities, and gave us a phone with her number on speed dial, (she even called after a few days when she hadn't heard from us!), to help with our luggage transfers on twisty medieval lanes, we traveled with confidence.
We would recommend this travel company to anyone desiring a personalized, care-free, independent, travel experience. Indeed, we have already! Simply put, they will help you organize a trip that dreams are made of.
In a trip that was studded with daily "highlights", this is so difficult to answer. Certainly our 6 private walking tours would be at the top of our list, each guide bringing their own personalized view of the history, importance, politics, and culture of the city or town we were visiting. The list would also certainly include wandering the canals of Venice, driving up the mountain passes in the Julian Alps, having custard cakes and coffee on the Terrace of the hotel overlooking Lake Bled. The Skocjan caves in Slovenia were unforgettable, as was hiking the waterfall trails in Plitivice national Park (where we made the last bus out of the park by a mere three minutes, and walked the last quarter mile by the light of a cell phone). Add to that, the beauty of the Croatian coast, the islands, the wonderful food, the sunlight and water, the history at every turn, and most of all, the people, who so willingly shared their time, advice, and personal stories.
Literally nothing, other than allowing for more time in Venice, which deserves a week unto itself. Other than that, the trip was perfect, just perfect.
