Travel Review: Tour of New Zealand, Australia & Fiji, Franz Josef HeliHike, Local Culture, Food & Wine, History

While this is a nearly impossible question to answer as so many parts of the trip were incredible, I'll focus on the memorable moment that almost nearly didn't happen.  We were scheduled to do a Glacier heli-hike on our only day in Franz Josef, New Zealand.  When we arrived amid rain and overcast skies to learn that our excursion had been cancelled, we were devastated.  Working with our agency ancillary staff abroad, however, we were able to make arrangements to do the hike the next day when the weather was perfect and rearrange a few activities later in the week.  It was an exhilarating experience and one we will never forget!!  Out agent had advised me to keep this option in mind before we left and I'm so glad that we had staff on hand to help us throughout our travels should issues arise.
