Travel Review: Tour of Thailand, Krabi, Phuket, Beaches, Hiking, Local Food & Culture

We would not go on the wildlife tour based on where we were staying.  We were actually quite upset about this tour and ready to cancel the remaining tours, but decided hopefully the other tours would be better.  We were picked up at 7am from our resort and did not get home until 8pm.  We spent a total of 9 hours in the van between driving to the locations and also we were the first to be picked up and the last to be dropped off it was absolutely miserable.  The sites we saw were great but when time spent in the car is 3 times the length of being at the sites it is not worth it.  We only spent about 20 minutes at the coffee stop, about 1 hour at the elephants, 15 minutes with monkeys, 45 minutes lunch, and about 45 minutes at most bamboo rafting.  Also we thought we would be seeing the elephants and monkeys in natural habitats and that was not the case.  We had no interest in riding elephants I do not agree with how they are treated, and was very unhappy to see elephants chained to trees when we arrived.  The itinerary did not explain the excursion in this way.  Other than this day we loved everything!

Thank you for such a positive review and knowing you enjoyed your trip so much is fantastic, however, we are very sorry for letting you down with the wildlife, this is not the experience you imagined nor we. After reading your review, we have made the decision to remove this from all future program's until a time they are able to reach a higher level of customer satisfaction and moreover to ensure the animal's welfare is excellent. We always look to  support local communities and projects, however they need to be operated in the right way and the animals treated and looked after to the highest levels. Your comments will help others avoid such a disappointment and they will be relayed to the operators as well, to allow them to improve.  

Thank you for also recognizing the work and efforts of the Phuket resort, their staff are not as 'polished' as others, but their smiles are genuine and their desire to help is evident. We really appreciate that you got this, knowing that they have looked after you and with your family background will be a great compliment to them and help them to improve and indeed better themselves and their lives.

We all hope you have some amazing lifelong memories and that you will one day have the chance to return to see more of this fascinating region.
