Galapagos was very enjoyable. The cruise ship at Pinta Island was a spacious ship. Food was good but not excellent.

The Peru portion of the trip was exhausting. Machu Picchu was the only target.I felt that there were too many stops and overnight stays before we got to Machu Pichu.

The hotels were excellent and the guides provided were good.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

being surrounded by hundreds of sharks one night

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Espedite the Peru portion. I felt that a day or even a day and half could have been saved.

Firstly, we here at the tour company would, like to thank you for taking the time to evaluate the services that we provided you and your daughter on your trip to the Galapagos Islands, mainland Ecuador, Lima, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco.

Frankly, though, we were astonished to see the relatively low 3-star rating of our services, as this tour company has typically received 5-star ratings from other travelers over the years.

Your evaluation was especially astounding in light of the extensive time and tremendous effort we spent in planning your trip, informing you (in detail, repeatedly, and in depth) of what to expect on your trip, our making innumerable changes to your itinerary, and our maintaining constant contact with you during your journey.

Again, while we sincerely appreciate your feedback, we should remind you that:

· This tour company's staff and I communicated with you for over a year through literally hundreds of e-mails, app messages and extended phone calls — explaining in great detail what you would experience by your electing to follow such a tight schedule to the Galapagos Island, mainland Ecuador, and Peru.

Please recall that we informed you of the travel demands that you would encounter given the long days and early-morning transportation requirements and enforced restrictions for reaching and visiting the aptly dubbed “Lost City” of Machu Picchu.

· We consistently bent over backward to fulfill and even surpass your every request prior to and during your journey. Please keep in mind how many times you requested that we change your itinerary (which we did), how we made your stay in Quito more convenient by providing a one-night hotel stay free of charge, met with you while here in Quito, calling and chatting with you while you were traveling.

· On various occasions, you chose to disregard the advice of our company (as is your right) in designing and following your travel itinerary. From the beginning, we advised you that compressing your entire Peru schedule into so few days was not recommended.

In short, though we at the tour company find your relatively low evaluation of our services to be unjustified, we will take the spirit of your comments to heart. Therefore, we will review our approach to informing our clients as to what to expect during very short trips to Peru. In addition, we will consider approaches to emphasizing to travelers the demands that they will encounter when traveling to Machu Picchu.

In any case, we once again thank for choosing to travel with our tour company and for making the effort to share your perspective on our services.
