Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

We were extremely happy with the services that Irene at the travel agency provided. All of the hotels were lovely. They were small boutique hotels ( with the exception of the hotel in Santorini). The rooms were generous, all with balconies and views. The guides were knowledgeable, as were the drivers. Everything within the company's control went smoothly. We always felt we were well taken care of. Irene uses small family owned businesses as much as she can, and this makes a difference. The people who own them are who you meet and they are committed to service. Any place Irene sent us to eat was at least good, if not excellent. I would use her again in a heartbeat and will recommend her to anyone planning a trip to Greece.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Too many to count. We loved seeing the Acropolis and The Agora in Athens. Walking around the ruins and getting the history was great. We also had great views of the Parthenon from the city and our second hotel balcony.
Santorini was amazing as an island. All the rock formations and the way the towns sat on the rock. The room at the luxury hotel was probably the nicest and definitely the largest we had. The balcony looked out at the Caldara- Amazing! we also liked the car tour of the island- seeing the small villages and Oia. The views!
The nature hike on Naxos was beautiful and, the guide, was super knowledgable about all the flora and history.
I loved walking around all the small towns because there were few cars and lots of small lanes with shops and restaurants. Chania in Crete was special in that way. You really felt transported back centuries. Our guide made the place come to life.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

The car tour of Athens after the Acropolis Museum was just okay. I know it was meant to give us a sense of the city, but itt wasn't needed.
I liked the sunset boat tour, but it wasn't as fabulous as I expected. I think it is better in the hot weatherwhen you can swim off the boat. It was too cold to do that. Food was OK, not great.
I would go straight to Chania and not stay over in Heraklion. The only bad experience we had was with the guy and whole reception set up at the suites in Heraklion. He was kind of rude and they brought drinks during the paperwork portion, which you didn't have time to drink. Then they took them away! No one escorted us to our room. The whole experience left something to be desired.
The lunch at the restaurant in the mountains was very good, but I am not sure it added much. It was a Sunday and very crowded. Maybe on a weekday it would have been better. We did enjoy talking to Stelios- our driver.
