Zicasso’s tour operator made our rather last-minute trip to Costa Rica not only seamless, but just what we wanted out of our return trip to this beautiful country! Our travel agent was quick to respond to any questions we had and took all of the stress of planning a trip out of the equation. Our trip was curated to cover different environments and landscapes, so we really felt we got a comprehensive feel for the country. And we absolutely can't wait to go back as there is so much more to explore!

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

We will always be touched by how incredibly kind every person we encountered was to us. My husband and I still talk about it. We were welcomed with truly open arms everywhere we went, from our transfers to hotels to excursions. I had not seen a sloth yet, so on the day we were leaving, the bellman at our hotel drove us in the golf cart to the other side of the property to see one! Those thoughtful gestures happened throughout our trip. The guides on our excursions were so incredibly knowledgeable. Their pride in their country was evident in every word they spoke. Pura vida was the theme of this entire vacation!

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

The only thing we would possibly reconsider is the resort we stayed at in Papagayo. This was no fault of the travel agency as we had requested it. It was lovely, but really designed for families. I would not suggest it for a couple's trip. They have remodeled the hotel and added an adult pool, but sadly charge $75/day per lounge chair and $750/day for a cabana! We found that to be quite unfortunate. They don't seem to support couples’ travel. Being spring break, it was also very crowded, with lots of kids. We were still able to relax on the beach, but again, not a place for a quiet, romantic couple's getaway. I have to say though, that the staff were lovely and went out of their way to accommodate us. And if I am ever lucky enough to have grandchildren, I would absolutely consider the resort for a family vacation.
