Indonesia, Singapore & Malaysia Vacation Review: Bali, Yogyakarta, Komodo, Kuala Lumpur, 18-Day Trip

Was disappointed with the city of Ubud were we stayed during our time in Bali.  Our hotel was great, but the city itself was very underwhelming.  Too crowded, excessive traffic, congested and not fun to walk around.  Would have been nice if our travel agent (local company used by our travel agency to set up that part of the trip) would have looked at our itinerary and suggested to us to stay at least one night on the beach south of Densapar airport to get a different perspective of the island.
Borneo was also very underwhelming.  We booked 3 days with a Safari into the jungle by boat.  One of our tours was suppose to be a Jeep trip thru the jungle to a cave, the other 2 tours were brief boat trips to look at the wildlife.  We found out the cave had been closed for months because of Covid and had never reopened.  The tour company knew this and never told us.  We were offered another 1 hour river boat tour instead as the only alternative.  We did not go, because the previous 2 boat trips were underwhelming.  Saw the same thing on both…a few monkeys and birds.  One lizard and one tiny baby crocodile and a small snake. There was nothing else to do at the camp..it was pretty boring..The staff was great, the cabin was OK, though my wife got eaten up by bedbugs unfortunately.  The travel agency booked this place to visit when I initially talked to them for a place to tour in Borneo.  I just wanted a safari camp somewhere in Borneo to see the orangutans and pigmy elephants, plus other wildlife.  We did see orangutans which was great, but our guide said they had not seen an elephant in over a month.
I personally would not recommend this part of the trip to my friends.  May a different place in Borneo would have been preferable.  They other parts of our trip were great!
