Italy Review: Sicily, Palmero, Taormina, Villa Romana del Casale, Agrigento Archaeological Sites, Mount Etna, Winery, Cooking Class

Never stay at the B&B in Palermo. Location was terrible (dirty streets, not easy to walk to restaurants at night; even taxi drivers were surprised when we gave them the address). We had 3 rooms which were not good for any of us. Only decent part of our stay at that place was the breakfast. We also think 2 nights is sufficient in Palermo.
We should have been advised beforehand about the size of a single room at the hotel in Siracusa. Once the room was changed to a regular size room, the three rooms we had were fine, and the location of the hotel was perfect.
We started our trip in Milan, and this company arranged for transfers from the airport to hotel. Since the company knew we would be in Milan, we think they should have  advised us about purchasing tickets to see The Last Supper months before our trip, just in case this was something we wanted to do in Milan. Since we did not know this, it was very difficult to secure tickets at a reasonable price that fit into our schedule. The hotel was finally able to help us.

I am sorry you didn’t like the B&B in Palermo. I have used it many times in the past and always had good feedback from my clients. The B&B is located right in the heart of the historic center of Palermo, close to the main attractions and with several restaurants located within 500 meters. I agree with you that Palermo is not a clean city and that should be maintained much better, but the area of the B&B is absolutely safe even if you might feel it is not. Unfortunately Palermo, like most of the cities in Southern Italy including Rome, experiences huge problems with garbage collection and street cleaning.

Regarding the Last Supper, I am sorry I did not recommended you purchase the tickets in advance, but we started our correspondence on July 07th and you asked me a lot of information on where to stay in Milan, but never mentioned you were interested in any sightseeing. I simply thought you just wanted to have some free time in Milan before starting your tour in Sicily. This is the reason why I didn’t think to tell you that tickets for the Last Supper had to be purchased well in advance. In any case, prices of the tickets bought on official channels are not discounted or cheaper if you buy them months earlier. For future clients who will be staying in Milan, I will remember to inform them regarding the Last Supper even if they have not expressly asked me any information regarding tours or sightseeing.

There is always something to learn and I am grateful for any feedback received because it helps me a lot in continuously improving the level of the services provided.
