Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

We cannot say enough about the professionalism of this travel team from our first contact with our travel designer to the end of our trip. The travel pack included substantive, detailed and invaluable information. In particular, we used the Your Japan Info-Pack as our trip 'bible'. Every part of the trip worked seamlessly - driver pick ups, hotels, guides, etc. During our trip, the local tour company responded to our email requests promptly and efficiently.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The entire trip was fantastic. Probably Kyoto, Mirameji Island and Hakone were three of our favorites. We have always enjoyed using public transportation on our trips. The Japan transportation system of bullet trains, busses, taxis and subways did not disappoint us. Everything ran smoothly and allowed us to see so many parts of this fascinating country. The hotels in Tokyo and Kyoto were beautiful. The Japanese people were polite, respectful and very helpful.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Though we liked Hakone, the Ryokan at which we stayed was our least favorite lodging. It gave us a real feel for the Ryokan traditional inn, but it was very worn and not particularly clean (e.g. the onsen in the room had ceiling mold and ceiling fixtures were dirty with bugs). I reviewed ratings on trip advisor for this Ryokan and if the pricing is accurate, it was far too expensive.
