This is the third time we have used Zicasso and we will continue to do so since the services of their agents are absolutely superlative. Our wonderful agent, Lisa, booked a trip to Western France and planned it perfectly and included those areas we wanted to see as well as some we never would have thought about. She also included choices in the different areas such as on the way from Paris to our first stop, Honfleur, she suggested stopping at either Giverny, La Roche-Guyon or Rouen. We picked what suited us best and our itinerary continued this way throughout most of our 18 days in France. The places we stayed were wonderful. The restaurant recommendations were fabulous. The tours were outstanding. Everything was done with so much care and thought. It was a magnificent trip and we hated leaving.
One of the most important things to us when we plan a trip is trust and accessibility of the travel agent. I can't say enough wonderful things about Lisa. I know this is more than a job to her. She clearly cares about her clients and their satisfaction and happiness.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

We fell in love with Normandy. What a gorgeous and historic region. The scenery is beautiful and the wonderful small towns were picture postcard perfect. The food was divine. And the day spent on the beaches and in the American cemetery was as memorable as anywhere we have ever been or anything we have ever seen. We adored the fat Norman cows with their black ringed eyes, and the wonderful pastoral scenery. We were amazed by the Bayeux tapestry. The cliffs at Etretat were fabulous and we could imagine the impressionists such as Claude Monet painting there.
We then travelled to the Loire Valley and fell in love with the marvelous town of Amboise. We were fascinated learning about the history of those who lived in the various chateaux. Amboise is truly magical and although Lisa suggested that we might want to spend a day in Tours, which is only 25 minutes away, we wanted to continue exploring Amboise and found endless things to see there.
Our final destination in France was the Dordogne with a brief stop in Bordeaux. We absolutely adored the Dordogne. Lisa had booked a private guide for the five days we were there and every morning we were picked up at 9:00 and spent the entire day exploring this incredibly beautiful and historic area with our outstanding guide. Each day was perfection as we explored the cave paintings, the cliff towns, the valleys, the chateaux and one exquisite village after another. It was idyllic!!!
We love France, the scenery, the history, the food and wine and the people.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

The train system in France is outstanding, but we found it to be a little challenging since we had some difficulty navigating the train stations and finding the correct cars on the train. However, everyone we asked was so kind and helpful and even helped carry our luggage. I can't say enough nice things about the people we met.
