Our 23 day trip began on Lake Lucerne in Switzerland and gradually progressed south to Positano Italy. We got very lucky and had bright sunshine every day but one with un-seasonally warm temperatures for October. Everything went so very smoothly for the 4 of us and our travel company stayed in contact daily to make sure we wanted for nothing.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

This was a fairy tale type of trip as we combined visits to picturesque places like Lake Lucerne, Mt. Pilatus, Lake Como, Venice and Positano with a couple of genealogy stops along the way to meet relatives we didn't know we had and visit places important in the family heritage. Our guide in Venice told us that he was instructed by our travel company that we were important VIPS so he wanted to know if we were famous or something. We chuckled and our guide then guided us through the streets of Venice to a variety of cafes to taste the wines and cicchetti.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

There is not much that needed changing. The hotel in Bern would perhaps be the only thing we would have changed. The hotel restaurant was very disappointing.
