We very much disliked our tour guide. Her English was broken at best and she has the wrong personality for the profession. She would ask awkward questions and didn't provide helpful or interesting information about Bali. Some of that was due to the language barrier. When I asked about temples or certain religious practices she would use the indonesian terms and that made it very difficult for me to follow. Unlike many of the people we met in the tourist industry in Bali, she was very low energy. Since we spent hours in the car with her (which we didn't like either) it would have been nice if she had spent that time cheerily talking about bali or alternatively reading our mood and seeing that we'd like to nap or read. We both came to dread getting in the car with her.

I'll say again, we would have liked to know how long it would take to drive from place to place prior to going. We also felt squashed in like sardines when we went to the traditional balinese dance. We didn't like it but there were literally people who were obviously too claustrophobic to continue sitting in the theatre. Had we known it was so far and so packed we would have avoided the event.

Thank you for taking the time to provide some feedback about your trip.  We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed your trip to Bali, it's a beautiful destination with so much to see and do!  The canyoning excursion is definitely a favorite of ours too and while it does require a long transfer from Ubud, we feel that its worth it and so glad that you felt the same! 

We do apologize for any issues with your guide and will certainly be looking into this further.  And we appreciate your suggestion for providing more information on transfer times in advance; I do agree that distances in Bali are further than most people anticipate.
