Review: Luxury 10-Day Trip to Italy, Sicily, Positano, Ravello, Pompeii

The trip was organized to a great level of detail.  Our agent reviewed and changed our itinerary a number of times with us and was really happy and helpful to do this for us.  We were looking for a tailored trip which was designed for us and was meeting our brief on exclusivity and luxury.  Initially I spoke to our agent and told her about us and that we were regular travelers and travelled usually 5 star and enjoyed bespoke travelling.  As we had no toured Italy we were leaving it in the hands of Zicasso to put together something we would enjoy.  There were parts we had expectation exceed and smaller parts where we felt who we were as travelers had missed the mark.  Don't get me wrong we had a great experience and great adventure, some of the hotels were fantastic and others were a little off but overall loved our tour. The hotel we stayed in at Positano had us in a very bottom room basically underneath the hotel it was seven flights of double steps (120 to be exact) which we had to walk up and down for two days on arrival and the next day as the lifts were broken.  The room had no view - of the back of a dirty shed - and we felt very claustrophobic.  We didn't really enjoy Positano that much and we believe it was partly due to the room we were in which the hotel stated was newly opened and renovated.  I feel like they overbooked the hotel and put us there as there was nowhere else.  This is not of course Zicasso's fault or in their control in any way we understand that but we just felt dismayed by it.
