Everything about the trip our travel agency created for us, exceeded our expectations. From the hotel selections, the rooms in the hotels, the excursions, the domestic travel, and the wonderful guides, we could not have been happier. John, Vy and the team clearly know the destinations and have been working in them for many years. Their reputation on the ground is stellar. Our trip went very smoothly, at just the right pace and our experiences were meaningful and memorable.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The standout, once in a lifetime experiences include visiting an elephant sanctuary and taking care of an elephant in Chiang Mai. It is like nothing we have ever experienced, and it was a hands on, learning experience that was also great fun. Additionally, our visit to the Phi Phi Islands in Phuket were very special. Having traveled quite a lot, Phi Phi still took our breath away and is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen.
In addition to those experiences, the cultural explorations of history, temples, lifestyle, architecture, art and food in Thailand and Laos were expansive and moving. Coupling that with some downtime in the lovely hotels, each with inviting pools and scenic areas to enjoy made the balance just right.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

We wouldn't do much differently - it really was exceptional in just about every way.
A few small things: we would choose a different beach destination other than Phuket - somewhere a little quieter, with more natural beauty overall and less traffic/touristy. We would also add the waterfall experience in Luang Prabang to the itinerary - we're sorry we missed it. We could have passed on the sunset cruise on the Mekong instead. Floating market tour in Bangkok was not much floating market, but more of a farmer's market/food tour. It was enjoyable, but we would have loved to actually experience more of a floating market as we have never done so.
