Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Our travel agent made planning our honeymoon stress-free. He listed to what we wanted out of our trip and did such a fabulous job personalizing our activities. He didn't try to pressure us into extending our stay or adding extra activities to our schedule. The pre-trip coaching was super helpful since this was our first time traveling to Italy. Every single piece of our trip fell into place exactly as it should have. Every driver showed up, every tour guide was on time and excellent, and our hotels were delightful.

The travel company even sent us champagne and snacks on our last night in Cinque Terre. Such a nice touch!

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

We fell in love with Cinque Terre. We stayed there for 5 days and loved everything about the history, the food, the wine, the ocean, and the breathtaking views. The travel company scheduled us a fantastic all day private tour guide that really helped us figure out how to navigate the towns and learn more about the villages. On our last day, we stopped by Nessun Dorma in Manarola for a pesto making class (unscheduled) that was one of our huge highlights. Highly recommended!

In Florence, we went on a Chianti tour where my husband got to drive us around the beautiful Tuscan country side in a vintage 1960's Fiat 500. It was AMAZING and definitely a memorable experience. The next day we had a cooking class and learned to make homemade pasta and tiramisu. We must have learned something because when we got home we hosted a party and cooked authentic Italian and everyone was so impressed!

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

I think if we could do this trip again we would spend more time in the Cinque Terre and less time in Florence. We may even consider staying in Siena instead of Florence. We are definitely laid-back ocean and countryside kind of people. Florence was neat for the history, but I would have been happy with a couple of days to see the sights and then go explore the beautiful nature more. But we have no regrets!
