Travel Review: Italy Honeymoon Vacation - Rome, Florence, Tuscany, and more

The travel company was very nice and helpful in preparation leading up to our trip. I like that they would call me to ask questions rather than just sending an email. Every member of the team was helpful and courteous. My main travel agent, Suzy contacted me after we returned to see how the trip went. I filled her in on what we liked most and didn't like about the trip. She seemed very interested in my feedback and open to my suggestions. Three things I liked most about this Italy travel agency would be: 1) The friendly staff 2) The helpful travel itinerary 3) The Restaurant suggestions provided in our itinerary. Three things I would change: 1) The three car Ferrari tour was changed to a one car Ferrari tour of Tuscany due to lack of participation during the month of Novemeber. This tour is the reason we booked our trip with Mongal. We were offered single Ferrari drives through other travel companies. Not sure how the travel agency would have known we would be the only participants. Red Travel organized the tour in Italy, and they were great too! Our 4 hour 3 car tour, turned into a 5 1/2 hour Ferrari drive through Tuscany with a surprise ending on top of a nice hotel overlooking Florence. They worked very hard to make our honeymoon special. It was just beautiful! 2) We requested a sporty car like a Miata as our rental, but the travel company confirmed we could not get a Miata, only a Peugeot 207 CC. Then later confirmed that we would have to pay for the rental direct in Italy. Which we did, and to our delight found we could rent a Miata! We just loved that Miata. 3) We missed getting our voucher before leaving home for our tour of the Sistene Chapel in Rome. On the day of the tour, I knew what time our tour began, but not where to go or who to look for? By the time we found the Vatican it was too late to tour the Sistene Chapel on our own. I was sorry to miss this experience. The Italy travel agency did help to refund our money for the tour we could not locate. In regards to the rental car, it was quite a coo that they were running a special with the Miata when you were there, we checked with them a couple of times before your trip and they said that car type would not be available. It was a shame about the voucher, it was tricky as it was something that wasn’t confirmed as something that you wanted for sure until so late, otherwise the voucher would have been with your regular packet. But odd that the email voucher didn’t come through to you. Also I want to make sure that you saw the contact number for the local office on the emergency information sheet, as that contained the office number in Italy for someone to contact. There was an office number as well as an emergency after hours line. For your next trip, the local companies are able to help with any questions while you are in that country, and you can also feel free to call our emergency phone number or email us. ;-)
