Travel Review: Luxury Peru Tour, Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Amaru, Machu Picchu Hiking

It's difficult to single out a particular part of our trip.

We enjoyed all our destinations within Peru.

Hiking the Machu Picchu mountain was amazing. Touring the Inka sites with a private guide was invaluable and visiting a home / farm in Amaru, meeting with the local people, taking part in their rituals and observing their way of life, was of great interest. The ride back to Cusco in the twilight, full moon and impressive mountain range shilouettes is something hard to forget.

Our three days in Cusco were great. Really enjoyed walking the city center with a guide, visiting the churches and the local market. The Monastery hotel provided an excellent setting and the service level provided by their staff is top notch.

Must also mention the Hiram Bingham ride back from Machu Picchu to Cusco. Like stepping back in time on an Orient Express train.

An overall surprise was the quality and diversity of the Peruvian cuisine.
