Travel Review: Scotland Vacation, Inverness, Edinburgh, Isle of Skye, St Andrew's, Highlands

So hard to choose. We loved the Isle of Skye. There really are no words to describe the beauty there! We toured the Isle with a small van tour and I would highly recommend others do so. It provided us the opportunity to see all the Island with a very informative guide with plenty of time to scramble about the gorgeous sites on Skye.

Another highlight of our vacation was our stay in Inverness. We stayed at the Culloden House which was probably our favorite hotel of the trip--how could it not be when a piper walks around the property in the evening while the guests sit in the lounge enjoying pre-dinner drinks! When our travel specialist realized that this stay would coincide with our daughter's birthday , she arranged that a cake would be served with our dinner. It was a delicious and thoughtful touch. What also made Inverness a favorite was the private tour that we had with our guide. Aside from the freedom from driving for the day, Jim was outstanding and truly added value to our trip!! He was charming and informative and ready to take us to wherever we wanted to go which turned out to be Culloden Battlefield and a whiskey distillery.  As if that wasn't enough, he presented our daughter with a lovely gift to celebrate her birthday (our agent having given him a 'heads up'). All in all, a perfect day.
