Watching the sunset and then the stars from a rental house we had all to ourselves in the mountains in Takahara. Catching our first glimpses of the Pacific ocean from a mountain pass as we neared Kumano Nachi Taisha and then seeing the shrine and waterfall itself resplendent in the afternoon light. Seeing the famous Torii gate of Miyajima at sunset. Standing in awe of the giant buddha at Tōdai-ji. Soaking in the famous waters of Yunomine Onsen and enjoying an incredible in room dining experience afterwards at a very nice Ryokan.
