Travel Review: Vietnam Tour, Ho Chi Minh, Mekong Delta, Cu Chi Tunnels, Local Cuisine, Culture & History

The trip was great... Our guide and our driver were amazing and we had an interesting variety of locations, food, and experiences.  Our guide's English was excellent, and the details he told us made our time in Vietnam very special.  He easily dealt with changes.  We particularly appreciated him taking us to specific Cu Chi Tunnels based on crowds and our preferences.

The hotel was very nice... luxurious, large rooms, friendly and helpful staff, with a wonderful breakfast buffet.

Our travel agent responded quickly to any questions during the planning and was available during the trip.  He was flexible as the details of our trip came together, even up to the last minute.  Every detail of the itinerary was handled.  For what this tour is designed to be, it was perfect.

My only issue is that this style of trip was too Western-tourist luxury for us.  Several places we went encouraged shopping (we pack very light and don't shop), and I was naive (and unprepared) about the the amount of tipping expected.  We met up with a relative who lives in Vietnam, who showed us more of non-tourist experiences of HCMC during our free time, which we enjoyed a lot.  This is just a personal preference, and no reflection on the travel company or Zicasso.
