Scotland Trip Review: Edinburgh, Glasgow, History, Whisky, Two Weeks

The scenery of Scotland is simply glorious, whether it is driving through the Highlands toward Inverness, circling Skye, driving through Glencoe, or being inspired on Iona. Castles, kirks, distilleries, and battlefields; all were enchanting and memorable!

Edinburgh and Glasgow, wholly different cities, are remarkable in their own ways. In Edinburgh, you return in time to the 18th century and earlier: the looming presence of Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile down to Holyrood Palace define the place (along with the Georgian "New Town"). Glasgow features its industrial past and is defined by the grandeur of Belle Époque buildings of the late 19th century, highlighting the wealth and power that resided there.
