We loved our time in Ireland! This is really a 4 and a half star rating. This travel company was a wonderful company to work with and tailored the trip to our desires. We were steered to tourist areas more than expected, but we were tourists after all! We were able to pick and choose what we wanted to do once we got there. All the reservations went very smoothly. I can't believe how much we accomplished on our two week self-driving tour! We could change our daily plans based on the weather, and we had the right rain gear. In our opinion the daily itinerary we received from our travel company was not presented in a logical sequence and required careful reading. Our travel company did a great follow-up and these small issues were addressed.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Every day was a treasure! The beautiful scenery, hiking in Glendalough, Kilkenny with St. Canices Cathedral and the Black Abbey, Rock of Cashel, walking around Kinsale town, stone circles and mounds scattered across the landscape with the most awesome at Bru na Boinne - Newgrange and Knowth passage tombs, high tea at Dromoland Castle, driving and hiking in Killarney National Park, Dingle Peninsula and climbing up Slea Head with the sheep and the wind, Aran Island tour- especially experiencing Dun Aongahasa, breakfast at Ballynahinch Castle -what a view!, Slieve League Cliffs, and the Giant's Causeway.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

To see this beautiful country again, we would opt for less days of driving ourselves, perhaps engaging a driver for additional day tours so we could concentrate on the scenery and not navigation. We did enjoy the freedom of mobility and being able to change plans based on the weather, so having a car was great in general. We also would choose upgraded accommodations closer to city centers and restaurants so we wouldn't have to drive at night. We would skip the touristy Guinness Storehouse, and spend more time exploring the city of Dublin.
